When ASUS launched the new Padfone 2 back in October the device came loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which disappointed many early buyers. But, as promised, ASUS has released to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Padfone 2 and it is rolling as an OTA download right now.

As reported by FoneArena, the update carries build number of JRO03L 10.4.33-0 on the Taiwanese Padfone 2. While the update brings all the new features present in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the OS itself looks almost like the older version of Android as ASUS has maintained its custom skin. The interface looks so similar that it becomes hard to tell if the device is running Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean.
As stated earlier, the update is available over-the-air and the process takes about 15-30 minutes to complete so be patient while installing and make sure your device is fully charged before beginning. Also, if the phone turns off on the boot screen then turn the device off and then back on to begin again.
Android 4.1 brings a number of features to the recently released ASUS Padfone 2, so if you are upgrading you will get offline voice typing feature, new notifications, Google Now, Voice Search, Face Unlock and more.
